… there’s a big mess. This wreck with only a couple of laps to go collected both of the drivers contending for the championship. (#5 Skinner and #33 Hornaday) Skinner would still go on to finish on the lead lap. Hornaday’s truck would limp across the finish line in pieces.
Dad and I are headed out to the races this weekend. Tons of pictures are sure to follow. Here’s the first of the bunch. (Although, I recommend checking out the larger view so you can get a better look at the flames shooting out the exhaust!)

This is the Chicago Merchandise Mart. I’ve been here for a trade show this week. The Merchandise Mart was once the largest building in the world (in terms of floor space), until superseded by The Pentagon in the 40s.

I finally broke down and bought a macro lens. Prepare to be bombarded by pictures of tiny things!
I think my camera was momentarily possessed by Edward Hopper. These kinds of pictures usually don’t come out of my camera naturally.
Not only does it melt quickly, but the temptation to eat it is damn near unbearable!
Yes, I know I haven’t blogged in a while. July was a crazy, busy month. I’ll pick up the pace in August, I promise.
